The City of Bellevue, WA is currently accepting applications for a Senior Engineering Technician in the Utilities Department. This position requires both the technical knowledge and skills to administer programs in their areas of responsibility, as well as, the ability to conduct regular routine field inspections and compliance investigations. The primary areas of responsibility will include private utilities systems inspection and maintenance programs for surface water (private drainage inspection and illicit discharge response), and wastewater (industrial user permits and related water quality monitoring). An employee assigned to this position will work as part of a team both in the office and extensively in the field, and is responsible for making decisions requiring sound judgment and technical knowledge, including knowledge of a variety of codes, ordinances, and best management practices.


The position is required to respond to designated emergencies on a 24 hour basis and have work hours of 7 am -3: 30 pm, including periodic paid weekly stand-by duty for evening and weekend call-outs if necessary.
