Facilities Services Technician 3 - City of Kirkland ( Job # 20-0080)

Minimum Salary: $31.58 per hour
Maximum Salary: $38.48 per hour

Under the direction of the Facilities Services Manager, this position is responsible for performing skilled construction, maintenance, repair, and remodeling of City buildings, facilities, and equipment.  This position is also responsible for managing projects by working with consultants and overseeing vendors and contractors.


  • Responsible for a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in one or more of the following trades:  carpentry, plumbing, painting, mechanical, lock smith, electronic, carpentry, glazing and mechanical trades. 
  • Manages projects and all work associated with project management including scheduling with customers and supervision and management of vendors, contractors and consultants. 
  • This position must be able to respond to off-hours emergency situations affecting the safety and security of City buildings.

Working Conditions & Physical Activities
  • Performs work in a variety of interior and exterior settings.
  • Must be willing to work outside in inclement weather.
  • Some work is performed in confined spaces or at heights and use of a ladder is routine.
  • Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds and bulky objects.
Minimum Qualifications

High school or trade school diploma or GED.  Five  years' in facilities maintenance or construction experience in a variety of building trades. 

Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License.

Must have current first aid and CPR card or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire. 

Must be able to operate a vairety of vehicles including pickups, step vans and passenger vans and those with a manual transmission. 

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of project management experience or municipal government project management.
