Summary

The City of Bellevue is currently accepting applications for a regular 1.0 FTE. This full time position is responsible for working one-on-one with defendants referred to the Probation Division Records Check program. Duties include but are not limited to: building case files on new referrals, conducting criminal/traffic records checks, tracking and billing offenders, writing violation reports and final letters, forwarding any non-compliance information received to the Court and/or the Prosecutor, coordinating offender monitoring efforts with the Court and/or Prosecutor, and implementing and expanding the program as needed.  Standard work hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  




Essential Job Functions

  • Operates a PC to view, enter, edit, format, revise, print, process and distribute information related to the offenders on monitored or unmonitored supervision with the division.  Oversees a caseload of over 400 offenders that increases by month depending on needs as determined by the Court and/or Prosecutor.
  • Gathers and compiles data from a wide variety of sources, including the Courts Operation System.
  • Monitors compliance with court ordered obligations.
  • Reports offender non-compliance with conditions of sentence to the Court and/or Prosecutor.
  • Reviews documents to determine how they will affect internal processing and determines appropriate course of action/response within assigned scope of authority.
  • Logs information into manual or automated systems. Processes transactions involving multiple steps and the application of varied, complex and/or ambiguous guidelines; may determine eligibility and/or compliance; approves exceptions within assigned scope of authority.
  • Prepares, maintains and updates system data and produces reports.
  • May perform incidental general office/secretarial tasks such as monitoring/ordering standard office supplies; collating and assembling documents; accepting and delivering inter-department correspondence, photocopying/faxing correspondence and reports; attending meetings and taking/distributing minutes; screening calls/visitors.

 

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and four years of progressively responsible related work experience.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Efficient in all facets of basic clerical skills, including but not limited to keyboarding, computer familiarity and competence, and positive public interaction.
  • Working knowledge of the District and Municipal Court System.
  • Ability to read and understand Criminal History Records.
