Summary

The City of Bellevue, WA is currently accepting applications for a full-time, 9 month temporary IT Business Systems Analyst III to work with our Technology Business Systems Team in the Information Technology Department.  The successful candidate will provide business analyst support to City departments for SharePoint 2010 implementation.  This includes working with the departments to understand their needs, helping them to map and migrate their content, plan and train end users in use of SharePoint 2010.
 

The successful candidate will be part of the SharePoint team consisting of internal IT resources and users and external consultants. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and flexibility are critical.



Essential Job Functions

  • Experienced Usability Specialist in user-centered design methods and information architecture.
  • Facilitates communications with SharePoint customers to clarify business rules, flows, and goals.
  • Translates business use cases and user requirements into functional specifications and Intranet site designs.
  • Works closely with specified units to identify issues and develop solutions.
  • Wireframe Intranet designs based on user input and requirements.
  • Facilitates and conducts SharePoint user training.
  • Creates SharePoint user training material.
  • Develops test plans based on user requirements.
  • Tests new SharePoint designs and enhancements.

 

Qualifications

Required  

  • SharePoint 2007 or 2010 knowledge and experience.
  • User acceptance testing experience including creation of test plans.
  • Ability to define and document functional requirements and use cases.
  • Ability to map business processes.
  • Exposure to a variety of IT disciplines e.g., systems life cycle, application support, database design, release management.
  • Can apply basic project management skills to manage scope, schedule and resources for small projects.
  • Significant experience supporting SharePoint from a business perspective.
  • Comprehensive experience and knowledge mapping business processes using variety methods, such as flow charts, swim lanes and UML diagrams.

Definition of a Temporary

  • Hired on the City’s payroll for up to 9 months working full-time or part-time. 
  • Cannot work for more than 9 months in the previous 12 months, whether in the same position or a series of consecutive positions. 
  • Cannot work simultaneously as a temporary employee and a temporary agency worker. 
  • A temporary employee who has worked the 9 month maximum in the previous 12 months must have at least a 3-month break in service before being re-employed by the City in another temporary status. 
  • At-will for the duration of the temporary status, except as indicated by union contract. 
  • Employment eligibility of a new hire into a temporary status must be verified. 
  • Temporary workers will be placed in non-regular positions, and shall receive no other compensation or benefits than the designated base hourly rate for hours of actual work performed except as specifically authorized by ordinance.
