Administrative Specialist - City of Redmond ( Job # 13-0047)
Minimum Salary: $3,184.00 per month
Maximum Salary: $4,821.00 per month

Under the supervision of the Development Engineering Manager, this position performs a variety of administrative support duties for the Development Services section of the Planning Department.
Duties include but are not limited to: issuing and tracking right-of-way, hydrant, and special use permits; tracking and releasing performance, maintenance, and cash bonds; invoicing for permits; monitoring developer payment agreements; composing correspondence; editing the work of other staff; initiating reports; developing and monitoring budgets; gathering, compiling, and maintaining data; creating spreadsheets, tables, and presentations; responding to questions from the public; and performing other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of: general office practices, procedures and equipment; local government structure, City policies and procedures.
Skill in: customer service and interpersonal communications; personal computer and software (MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook); basic bookkeeping; proofreading; maintaining databases and records; preparing reports and presentations.
Ability to: determine work priorities and handle routine and non-routine matters; establish and maintain file management systems; work independently and cooperatively with others; establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, vendors and the public; communicate effectively and tactfully both verbally and in writing; resolve issues with a positive outcome.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative support experience. Relevant certification or higher education coursework desired.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a driving record that meets City standards. Fulfillment of bargaining unit agreement membership is required within 30 days of hire.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment. May occasionally be required to lift boxes or files, usually not exceeding 30 pounds.
