Application Process

Submit a resume and City of Redmond online application (www.govjobstoday.com).  Please submit the Authorization for Release of College Transcripts form (see email) and official college transcripts (or ensure transcripts are on file) and send to Kitty Jacobs at Human Resources (3NHR).  The Fire Transcript Evaluation Group will verify eligibility.

All forms and transcripts need to be received by the application deadline of December 9, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.

Hours:

This position will work a 40-hour week.

Qualifications:

Two (2) years as a Redmond Fire Department Deputy Fire Marshal or Driver/Operator, and 18 college credits or equivalent, 6 of which may be in-house merit credits.  Credit requirements will be in addition to credits earned for Firefighter 1 certification and EMT.  (Per Appendix B and D of the Standard Operating Guidelines, Section 021: Personnel)

 

Licenses and Requirements:

Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is required and shall be maintained as per union contract.  Valid driver’s license.

Eligibility:

Candidates must possess the minimum qualifications outlined above by December 9, 2013 to take the Assistant Fire Marshal examination.

Testing Dates:

Candidate Briefing:  Friday, January 3, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. in the Police Training Room (Public Safety Building)

Assessment Center:  January 7 & 8, 2014, at Overlake Christian Church

Dates listed are tentative.  Candidates will receive additional information and individual test schedules prior to the assessment center date.


Test Content:

Content may consist of some or all of the following elements:  technical exercise, writing exercise, customer service exercise, oral presentation, personnel exercise and oral interviews.  Passing score is 60%.
