Assistant Beach Front Manager (Supp. Rec.Leader III) - City of Redmond ( Job # 14-0010)

This position will be open until filled; however, preference will be given to applications received by March 10, 2014.

Under the supervision of the Beach Front Manager this position will work in a team setting to:

  • Assist in the management of the aquatics program
  • Enforce park ordinances and swimming rules
  • Supervise public activities and ensure patron safety
  • Help supervise lifeguards
  • Conduct basic beach front maintenance duties
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Must enjoy working with people

Hours and Duration:

This position will work approximately 35 - 40 hours per week; hours may vary depending on weather conditions and beach attendance (part-time positions also available).   The season is June 18 - September 1, 2014. 

Education and Experience:

Lifeguarding experience at a pool or beach park is required.  Open water lifeguarding experience and supervisory experience in an aquatics program is desirable.

Licenses and Requirements:

Must be a minimum of 19 years of age by June 1, 2014.   This position requires current certification in: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training/First Aid and American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. The Northwest Lifeguard Test or equivalent is desirable.

Applicants will be required to attend mandatory skills and conditioning training as scheduled, prior to the start of the season.  Ability to work the complete lifeguard season is required.

Valid Washington State Driver's License is required by date of hire, and a driving record that meets City standards.

Outdoor recreational environment subject to noise, distractions, seasonal heat, adverse weather conditions and danger associated with aquatics setting.
