We're searching for the next member of our award-winning Communications team to join our video team.  This postion will assist the City's Media Production Specialist in meeting and event video coverage.



•           Assists in the coordination and production of original programming for public programming and for video projects.

•           Operates equipment to record and broadcast local events and Council meetings.

•           Photographs or videotapes special events, dedications, and activities.

•           Operates and maintains camera equipment and related materials, projectors, screens, lighting, editing and production equipment.

•           Performs a wide variety of technical tasks associated with audio-visual productions, including camera work, lighting, sound set-up, set and site preparation, and editing.

•           Inventory, document, and archive audio-visual production and photographic files.


This is a technically oriented position involving the use of multi-media for the production of visual and audio-visual materials and presentations to promote City activities, public information and education. Under the direction of a supervisor, positions in this classification may coordinate the operations of the cable channel, oversee, and direct studio productions, and produce informational videos and programming. Primarily, work involves use cameras and recording equipment, lighting and computer based graphics.


•           Skill in the operation and maintenance of various types of audio and visual production equipment.

•           Knowledge of Multimedia production and related software.

•           Knowledge of Technical aspects of computer graphics design and production.

•           Knowledge of Audio-visual archiving practices and technologies

•           Skill in Video production and design.

•           Skill and Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.

•           Knowledge of Municipal government policies and procedures preferred.

•           Knowledge of Copyright laws preferred.

•           Valid Washington State Driver’s License with driving record free from frequent or serious violations.  A three year driving record abstract will be required prior to hire.
