Summary

The City of DuPont is seeking an experienced and forward thinking leader with a strong knowledge base in general municipal operations to become its next City Administrator. This is a rare career opportunity to work in a close-knit community; in a City that many people call an “island of calm” amidst the hustle and bustle of Western Washington. DuPont still has a small town feel, even with strong commercial growth.

Under the direction of the Mayor, the City Administrator oversees the City's department activities and operations, develops and implements policy, procedures, and programs that support the long-term goals of the Mayor, Council, and the Citizens we serve. The ideal candidate embodies the City’s core values, delivers effective and innovative services, and demonstrates integrity and respect in support of the City’s Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives. This position will require an approachable, team-oriented leader, who can “wear many hats”, demonstrates respect, and fosters collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree; MPA, MBA, or related master’s degree.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in a progressively more responsible senior management position, five (5) years of public sector management.
  • Any combination of related education and experience or training that, in the opinion of the City, would provide the level of knowledge and abilities required.
