Facility Monitor - City of Sammamish ( Job # 19-0015)

Summary

GENERAL PURPOSE

Oversee rental groups in the Lodge at Beaver Lake, assists at the Rental Desk in City Hall and monitors fields to ensure correct usage.

HOURS AND DURATION

Approximately 5-30 hours per week; hours vary depending on season and events scheduled.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Works under the general supervision of the Recreation Manager.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED

None.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work as scheduled by the Facility Assistant
  • Provide excellent customer service to all rental groups
  • Enforce all the policies and procedures
  • Assist, as needed, with event set up and take down
  • Ability to answer questions and make decisions
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings
  • Responsible for basic maintenance duties
  • Responsible for the care and maintain of all the equipment
  • Knowledgeable and able to carry out responsibilities in the event of an emergency
  • Check for and report damage and hazards to the Facility Assistant
  • Professional casual attire required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to positively and effectively communicate with all customers, service groups and staff
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Maintain equipment and grounds
  • Enforce rules and regulations with rental group, their guests and park users

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or GED 

Experience: One (1) year experience providing customer service

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a highly visible position requiring an extremely dedicated individual.  The person in this position will be responsible for promoting the Lodge’s policies and procedures. This position demands professionalism with high standards, great customer service and enthusiasm.

Work is performed in office settings. 

SPECIAL REQURIREMENTS

Work schedule is mainly Saturdays with some Sundays and Monday through Friday evenings. Completed City of Sammamish application is required. Must comply with all State Department of Labor and Industries Employment Standards Program regulations.  If under the age of 18, must complete parent authorization form. Ability to conform to drug and alcohol testing requirements under the federal Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991. Applicants may be subject to preemployment physical examinations. Proper documentation to fulfill the requirements of the Immigration and Nationality Act within (3) days of employment with the City of Sammamish.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position works indoors and outdoors with a wide variety of age groups from preschool through senior citizens in a variety of recreational activities. Must be able to physically play and demonstration games, work with arts and craft materials, work outdoors for extended periods of time in all kinds of weather conditions, and able to respond and react to an emergency in an effective manner. 

The employee must be able to lift a minimum of twenty-five(25) pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Outdoor recreational environment is subject to noise, seasonal heat, and adverse weather conditions.
