Summary

Green Kirkland Partnership Seasonal Laborer position(s) performs general labor tasks and operate equipment as assigned for the restoration and maintenance of the City's natural parkland areas. 

All assignments perform manual labor tasks using hand and power tools. 

This position will conduct activities to restore and maintain forested and other natural areas and may include trash removal from natural areas.


Special Note

Only candidates whose skills most closely match position requirements will be contacted.  This is a limited duration employment and is anticipated to start early May and conclude by early November. 

Hours of Work

40 hours/week.  Work shifts will vary and may include weekends. A typical work week will be  Monday through Friday, or Tuesday through Saturday, 6:30am to 3:00pm.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be able to operate basic hand and power tools and equipment, drive a pickup, maintain a valid Washington State Drivers License, and function effectively as a team player.  These positions require successful completion of a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of Pacific Northwest native plants and invasive plants.
  • Basic knowledge of and experience restoring and maintaining forested and other natural areas, including invasive plant removal/weeding, native tree/plant installation, watering, and mulching.
  • WSDA Pesticide Applicator License.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management best practices.
Working Conditions & Physical Activities

Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather; lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds; climb into and out of trenches and climb ladders.
