Summary

Looking to build a career in Human Resources? The City of Kirkland has an opportunity for a Human Resources Analyst (2 current vacancies) to gain experience in all aspects of Human Resources, from employee relations to compensation analysis. 

The Human Resources Analyst performs a variety of technical and professional work in analyzing and administering functional areas of the City's Human Resource policies and programs.  Functional areas include:  recruitment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, position classification, labor relations and training.  Assignments and projects in these functional areas will vary between analysts and may change from time to time.  This position communicates accurate and timely information to Payroll; conducts research and analysis and supports City departments in recruiting and hiring staff. 


Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Business or Public Administration with emphasis in Human Resources or related discipline, plus 4 years progressively responsible human resource experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. 

Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and advanced interpersonal and customer service skills.  Must be able to research, compile, and objectively analyze data.  Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.  This position requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Public sector Human Resources experience 
  • Current PHR or SPHR designation desirable

Hours of Work

Core business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.     

Working Conditions & Physical Activities

Work is performed in a typical office environment.   Work is fast-paced with frequent interruptions from phone calls and staff.  Incumbent is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time while performing keyboard functions.   Occasional attendance at meetings outside normal business hours required.    Must be able to lift weights up to 30 pounds.
