Art Instructor (Variable) - City of Bellevue ( Job # 19-00272)

Summary

The Arts Instructor is responsible for planning, developing, and instructing a variety of art programs and events for youth and adults. This position works closely with the Northwest Arts Center Recreation Coordinator and is supervised by the Program Manager. This position will primarily work out of the Northwest Arts Center and teach the Creative Kids Afterschool Arts Program, but will also teach camps, art parties, art programs for people with disabilities, and teach Art on the Go! programs at other community centers within Bellevue.

Work Schedule is varied but will typically be 2-15 hours per week, with shifts on Wednesday early afternoon, other weekdays, evenings, and some weekends to meet class schedules and needs of special events.

The Northwest Arts Center is located near downtown Bellevue and currently provides classes in performance arts (music and dance) and fine arts (drawing, painting, glass fusion, and pottery.) It has 4 studios with one dedicated to art and pottery, one multi-purpose studio, one studio with a kitchen, and one large studio for events and performance arts. The Center is looking to expand and this position will help shape the future of art offerings at the Northwest Arts Center.
